Rooms are clean, but the decor feels like a 1990's roadside motel.

Good for families, just not cheap
We were in town for a concert and the hotel was easy to get to from the venue. The guy at the front desk was really friendly and the parking garage that led right to the hotel was super convenient during the rainstorm.
It wasn’t exactly inexpensive, but it was still acceptable for what we needed.

missingWrote a review on 05 Juldated decoruncomfortable noise
The room had a dated vibe, reminiscent of a 1990s roadside motel, which might not suit everyone’s taste. The carpeting showed significant wear and tear, including stains, and the shower had a sketchy appearance. Noise from the nearby road and train tracks made for an uncomfortable night, especially if you're a light sleeper. sounds echoed from slamming doors in the hallways too. The mixed pricing was frustrating, as I found the room listed for much less post-stay.

I stayed in a Queen Room at the Amsterdam Hotel for two nights. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Stamford, making it easy to explore the area. The room was spacious and clean, which I appreciated. I felt safe while wandering around the neighborhood, and there were several nice restaurants nearby. The front desk staff were really friendly and helpful, which enhanced my stay. The continental breakfast had decent options like coffee, bagels, and muffins—nothing fancy, but it did the job. However, the room showed signs of being outdated. The bed was quite firm, and the pillows were too thin, which made it uncomfortable for a good night's sleep. The AC unit was noisy, but the staff fixed it promptly once I brought it to their attention. I encountered issues with the cleanliness. The towels felt a bit worn, and the bathroom could definitely use more attention to detail. All in all, while I enjoyed my stay, the hotel could improve on comfort and cleanliness to provide a better experience.

The room was spacious and clean, featuring a fridge and microwave, which were really convenient. However, the decor felt quite outdated, reminiscent of a roadside motel, and there was noticeable noise from the nearby road and train tracks. While the complimentary breakfast was decent, it was minimal and could use more variety.

Unexpected nostalgia in every corner
The hotel had a charming old-world feel, and the staff made me feel right at home. Breakfast was a delightful mix of options that fueled my day.
However, the elevator was a bit temperamental, causing delays. And the decor had seen better days—it looked overdue for some modernization.

Just a nice choice for a weekend trip in Stamford with good price-quality ratio. The continental breakfast was a little sparse but they had wrapped pastries that were nice enough. Bring your own decaf coffee if you like it, they don’t have any.
